Our company organized training workshops between 16th and 18th of October 2009 in:
TOTAL REHABILITATION AFTER PARTIAL OR TOTAL LARYNGECTOMY UTILIZING THE MOST ADVANCED DEVICES AND TECHNICAL AIDS.
Our guest of honor was Mrs. Tina Long from the USA- the president f the International Association of Laryngectomees (IAL).
She delivered an informativelecture about the IAL's activities and care available to the laryngectomees in te US.
There also were presentations by Mr. Jacek Latanowicz and Mr. Piotr Miler about hearing aids for the laryngectomees.
Presentations of Dr Dorota Piekaj Stefanska - phoniatry expert and Mrs Magdalena Fabczak Kowalczuk - speech pathologist, enjoyed the biggest interest among the participants.
Dr Piekaj Stefanska presented the anatomical fundamentals of persons after total laryngectomy, radiation and chemotherapy. Mrs. Magdalena Fabczak Kowalczuk provided lecture about esophaegal speech, techniques of creating substitutive voice for patients after total laryngectomy and patient types prone to cancer.
According to the workshop participants, one of the interesting presentations was given by the Director, Mr. Wojciech Musialik, about technicalaspects of prosthetics for the patients and most recent developments in technology to provide more comfort for the laryngectomees in their everyday's life.
The training was also attended by the laryngectomees who were helpful to the program when it came to practical applications. We want to thank them for their involvement.
The participants were enjoying the comfort, culinary facilitiesand excellent service of the Wilga hotel in Mierzecice.
All participants left the conference very satisfied by gainingnew knowledge and experience.
The workshops received very positive comments by the participants. We are now receiving inquiries about the dates of next workshops, which portrays the satisfaction by the participants about good atmosphere of the conference location and demand for acquiring knowledge in the wider sense.
